So you had picked the destination? You
are going to plan your itinerary and booked the hotel. You are eager to set off. But wait a moment. Before planning your itinerary, had you made
enough research on the place? There are few
things to consider, like the weather of the place, whether it’s the peak or
off-peak season, the political situation at the time of the visit and whether
there is any major events going on.
When going for a trip, you would need
to know the weather of the place. Like
for example, if the destination you travel is during winter season, you might
need to prepare winter clothing. If the
destination you travel is during summer, you might need to prepare things
accordance to the weather. Or you might
to avoid places where there might be storm season or monsoon season.
Other than the weather of the place,
you would also need to consider the peak season and be aware of the
international holidays. The hotel rates
and the airline tickets may also be higher during the peak season. Don’t forgetting during holidays, the locals
might also be visiting the place and there might be crowd at that place. So for those who do not like crowd, you might
want to avoid travelling in peak season or during holidays.
You would need to be aware of the
political situation for the place that you would be visiting. You might not want to visit the place where
there are elections campaigns for fear that something might happen during the
election.
Major events may happen and coincide your
visit accordingly. Some of these events,
like Olympics, national festivals etc, may excite you that you would not want
to miss it. Or you want to have an
understanding of the events and want to experience, gain a broader knowledge
and make your trip more eventful.
