Additional Planning Tips on Destination

So you had picked the destination? You are going to plan your itinerary and booked the hotel.  You are eager to set off.  But wait a moment.  Before planning your itinerary, had you made enough research on the place?  There are few things to consider, like the weather of the place, whether it’s the peak or off-peak season, the political situation at the time of the visit and whether there is any major events going on.

When going for a trip, you would need to know the weather of the place.  Like for example, if the destination you travel is during winter season, you might need to prepare winter clothing.  If the destination you travel is during summer, you might need to prepare things accordance to the weather.  Or you might to avoid places where there might be storm season or monsoon season.

Other than the weather of the place, you would also need to consider the peak season and be aware of the international holidays.  The hotel rates and the airline tickets may also be higher during the peak season.  Don’t forgetting during holidays, the locals might also be visiting the place and there might be crowd at that place.  So for those who do not like crowd, you might want to avoid travelling in peak season or during holidays.

You would need to be aware of the political situation for the place that you would be visiting.  You might not want to visit the place where there are elections campaigns for fear that something might happen during the election. 


Major events may happen and coincide your visit accordingly.  Some of these events, like Olympics, national festivals etc, may excite you that you would not want to miss it.  Or you want to have an understanding of the events and want to experience, gain a broader knowledge and make your trip more eventful.
